    Local residents have an unprecedented opportunity to participate in a historic study that has the potential to change the face of cancer for future generations during the American Cancer Society’s Cancer Prevention Study-3 (CPS-3) at Medical Center of Trinity.

    Men and women between the ages of 30 and 65 who have never been diagnosed with cancer are needed to participate in the American Cancer Society’s Cancer Prevention Study-3 (CPS-3). CPS-3 will enroll a diverse population of up to half a million people across the United States and Puerto Rico. The opportunity for local residents to enroll in CPS-3 is being made possible in partnership with Medical Center of Trinity on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm.

    Medical Center of Trinity to Host Monthly Support Group for Family Members/Friends Impacted by Autism

    Medical Center of Trinity will have the pleasure of hosting a new community support group for parents, family members, and friends impacted by autism and related neurological disorders such as, Sensory Integration, Tourette's, Aspergers, ADHD, etc. Relatives and family members of all these neurological disorders likely struggle with very similar issues on a daily basis and seek out the same treatments. In this way those who are impacted can benefit from group meetings.

    The first meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 9 at 7 pm at the new Medical Center of Trinity, 9330 State Road 54, Trinity, Florida 34655. The meeting will be held in Conference Room C in the main building off the lobby. The first meeting will be a meet and greet with basic information. The group will continue to meet at Medical Center of Trinity on the second Wednesday of each month at 7 pm. Jonica Chittum, mother of an 8-year old with Autism, saw the need in the community and made the decision to spear-head this new support group.  She will coordinate speakers and resource fairs on a regular basis based on the needs of the group at the time.
